Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-16

Welcome to UniMeet. By creating an account you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. UniMeet is operated by Peter Nektarios Schwarz, Patra, Greece. Questions: hello@unimeet.gr.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 17 years old. We check your age during onboarding and do not let users under 17 create an account.
  • You must sign up with a valid academic email address from a partner university. Impersonating another person or institution is not allowed.
  • One account per person. You are responsible for your account and everything done with it.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you create (profile texts, meetups, messages). You grant UniMeet a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute your content inside the service for the sole purpose of operating it (e.g. showing your meetup to members and your department). When you delete your account, this licence ends, except for content that was shared with others and kept in anonymized form for moderation.

House rules

  • Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content targeting others, spam and scams are prohibited.
  • Meetups must be lawful and safe. Do not organize or promote anything illegal, dangerous or commercial without permission.
  • Do not collect other users' data, scrape the service, or try to access it other than through the app.
  • We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that violate these rules. Serious violations lead to a permanent ban.

Meetups and safety

Meetups are organized by users, not by UniMeet. We provide the platform but do not attend, vet or supervise meetings. Always use common sense: meet in public places, tell a friend where you are, and use the report and block tools if anything feels wrong. For meetups with a pinned meeting point, earning XP requires checking in there; faking your location or attendance to farm rewards violates our house rules.

Availability and changes

The service is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. We may update these terms; the latest version is always published on this page. Continuing to use UniMeet after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page (there is a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel). We may suspend or terminate accounts for rule violations or legal reasons.

Liability and law

To the extent permitted by law, UniMeet is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for what happens at user-organized meetups. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Courts of Greece have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
